fusebox, main fuse question
long story short, last nite we picked up my 91 rx7 and towed it back on a trailer (it needs some work).
we jumped the car to start it and get it on cause it had a dead battery (all goes well let it run for about 10mins so we didnt flood it or anything).
but anywho we wake up this morning and go to jump it to get it off and my friend switched the negative and positive and the main fuse blew (started smoking) and it seems to be stuck in the socket..unless i need to unbolt something?. so im thinking ill probably need a new fusebox and main fuse?
I also will be needing the 80 amp main fuse.
so as of now with a new battery that i bought tonight nothing turns on or even moves in the engine we i try to start it or turn it on
i can take pics in the morning if needed
also if anyone knows where i can get this stuff or you have it PM me.
thanks in advance
not exactly how i wanted to start getting into 7's but when we first pulled in to pick it up, it was love at first sight

Yeah I made this mistake too. All the other fuses in the main box under the hood are this plug-in type. The MAIN fuse (big 80amp in the middle) is the same shape on the outside but the bottom there are two long metal prongs that are the fuse connection. You can get these 80smp suckes anywhere they sell car fuses. I was stupid and bought mine from the dealer cause I didn't "see" the fuse that I thought I needed at Advance Auto or pepboys. And the dealer markups are insane...$3 for a fuse, I could have just used an 80 amp kitten off the street...Meow.
So unbolt either side of the main fuse, Disconnect the negitive battery terminal FIRST!. And simply replace fuse and bolt back on...connect battery!

This is why a sig with your car's model in it is a good idea.
