I have a 90 gxl and when the rpms get between 3 and 4 thousand my car starts making this horriable noise from under my hood. i had tried looking to see if i see anything wrong when i have the car in neutral and some one keeping the rpms up but it doesnt make the noise when it is sitting still. Only when i am going about 80 to 85 somewhere in there it starts going crazy! anybody have any ideas of what could be wrong? please help!

 

Radiator and fan. Fan hitting loose radiator? Some loose thing hitting the fan? Hitting the belts? Oh! How about this...... is the about one inch size hose coming out of the air control valve connected up? Should go from the acv to a silencer(muffler) in the right wheel well. Around 3800rpm, if memory serves, the relief valve in the acv, relieves the air pump pressure, and if that hose is not on it will make a great honking noise.Maybe honking is wrong. How about loud buzz? Makes a loud noise anyway.Just a possibility.

i had a terrible noise 2. it ended up being the pulleys. just sprayed them with some lube and it was gone.

well thank you for the ideas but none of those things are happining so im not for sure what is wrong with it... any other ideas or things i should look at?
