yesterday after i changed my oil i began to hear this sort of deep whirring noise when i start the car. it seems to be coming from the transmission bellhousing area and it goes away after i rev to 3k or start driving. i dont know what it could be other than my starter... again
any thoughts?

 

you sure its coming from the tranny? i had the same thing and it was my belts gone to ****

 

really? i'll check them. i thought it could be from the tranny... but the way sound reverberates it could be coming from futher forward.

what condition where the belts in?
