Funny Clutch Problem....
Been having this problem for a long time now.
After holding the rpm at around 4k rpm for a launch, the clutch would slip into 2nd and 3rd gear 90% of the time. This leads me to think that my clutch is toasted and need a new one. However, last night, I did a regular start on the car, rev'd up to 8k in 1st and thinking it will slip but chirped 2nd gear. I was like WTF? I guess my clutch is not bad after all(at least the disc).
My guess is that maybe when I push on the clutch peddle, the clutch doesn't fully disengage thus heating it up?
Can someone shine some light on me?
Thanks a million

My '89 TII would slip under heavy acceleration-Not in first gear, but when shifting into 2nd and 3rd.
When I pulled it apart in January, disc had quite a bit of lining remaining, but pressure plate had lost "clamping power". Weak springs from the heat. Replaced assembly, now fine.
