Fun with ex-beater RX-7's - Turbos
Well, as of tomorrow, I have 8000 USD to play with and also a '88 RX-7 turbo for parts. (i'd use mine as a parts car but there is no title for the '88) So, I want to basically use the bodyshell and front nose and right fender of my '86 RX-7 and everything else from the '88. (including brakes, suspension, five-bolt wheels, turbo motor [albeit rebuilt])
so, anthing that I should watch out for? I don't give a damn about "difficulty" i got a complete 1992 Probe GT motor and trans plus brakes and five-bolt wheels into a 1987 626 coupe and it runs perfectly, going 100+ miles today without problems.

Everything will bolt up and work great. You really need to use every wire and component fron the turbo into your NA. The only real hard part about this is removing the dash to get the one large wiring harness out.

Ahhhhh... now I understand your other post. DO IT! Or... do what you were talking about in the other post... put it in a first gen. OR... my favorite suggestion... buy an 88 convertible with a bad engine... and swap it into THAT. Now THAT would be a sweet ride.

How about a TII 1st gen conv't?
But the problem is that it is too damn cold up here to have a conv't/ there aren't any in my yard / i can't afford a good car right now.
