full range throttle sensor (tps)

I've been pulling this code for a while now off the ecu. I tried the lamp thing and it is fine. Today I checked the resistance and the narrow one is in range(and easily adjustable) but the full range is like .25Kohms when it shoule be .6 thru .9k ohms. This sensor is off at wide opens throttle too. The tps adjustment screw doen'nt seem to change the value for the full range sensor, only the narrow sensor. I am think of wiring a resistor because I have tried everything else I can think of to get it set right so my car will idle smooth again.Or I might pull apart the linkage and file the cam down a little bit.

Anyone out there had experince with this sort of thing?
I really don't think a new $250 sensor will solve anything nor will junkyard crap
