fuel vapor canister -do they go bad ?

hello all,

Im wondering if the fuel vapor canister would be considered an item that needs to be periodically replaced ?

I know these are probaly 20 years or older on our cars and probaly most all havent been replaced.
I see the manuals, etc dont mention replacement ,however after 20 years of doing service { and a valuable one} maybe they should be replaced ... or.. do these things last a lifetime and its no matter of concern.

Does mazda even sell them still?

anyone with additional info ?

They can become saturated. Usually you can tell when there is a strong gas odor. Like you open the hood and smell gas and verify its not a gas leak, its probably the cannister. I think last time I checked they were like $100.
