Fuel Smell...Confirmed NOT FPD.
OK......I have a 1988 GXL N/A....no biggie.
I have a fuel smell that I get but not on a regualer basis. And before you say it....its not the FDP....we checked and replaced. We pressure tested the entire system and found no leaks of anykind...we check the rings on the injectors-no leaks.
Anybody else get this kind of smell??
Also...how much HP does a stock 13b N/A have from the factory??

If it pressure checks ok, than that means only one possible area.. the intake manifold. You sure you don't have any vaccum leaks or anything at any point past the injectors?

check the fuel hoses from the undercarriage up to the engine, both the pressure and return lines tend to crack and can seep gas if they have never been replaced. also check to see that you are not getting any leaks from the clamped ends. only way to find a fuel leak is to look while you can smell it, visually inspect all of your fuel lines from the tank all the way up to the engine keeping a close eye on the ones i mentioned.

Charcoal cannister would be my guess as well. If it smells especially strong after shutdown near the drivers side rear wheel well, chances are it's the cannister. Replaced mine a few months back and no more smell. Just make sure that the smell is not coming from under the hood.
One other thing to look at is your seal around the fuel pump access door. If you changed your fuel pump recently the gasket may not be sealing properly, causing fuel to smell once fuel slosh begins. Check these out and let us know what you discover!

Another idea:
Loose spark plugs. It's a small, stupid thing, but if they're loose and you're missed it your engine will be spewing some of the intake charge out into the bay...
