Fuel resistor Pack

is it a good idea to just remove the fuel resistor pack from the car instead of doing a rewire? http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/rewire.htm

and if the resistor pack gets very hot (install in tight place with carpeting on top) will it cause starting problems

thank for all the info taht anyone can provide

i swear people wont take 2 minutes to answer a simple post, they expect that everything can be found in the search, like this can, but its a pain in the ***. The search feature sucks. Im in the same boat, only i want to add resistors. Yet people wont respond.

Im sorry, if i knew the answer i would respond and help you, but at least my post will bring yours to the top! Good luck.

Come on, Ronin, this isn't easy **** that everyone knows. Also, some of the more knowledgeable members don't exactly live here. In addition, the subject could have been something like "TII Fuel pump rewire" to attract the guys who know. And I do agree with you regarding the search lacking a bit (should have an option to match all search terms).

OP, I'm not a turbo guy, but if you're asking whether to bypass the resistors that feed the pump only 9V at times, you shouldn't do this. It gives the pump less work and prevents the engine from getting too much fuel when it doesn't need as much. I'd say either follow the whole write-up, or leave stock.
