Fuel requirements for upgraded TII

Hey all...

I'm have a TII ported motor, and have a larger than stock T04 turbo that I'm running with an external wastegate, etc... While doing my last tuning session with the car, I ran out of fuel around 4,000 RPM's at 4-5psi. I am running the Wolf 3D computer, and the fuel adjustment was maxed out at 100% duty cycle, and while monitoring AFR, it was obvious I was out of fuel. The fuel system is a stock GSL-SE fuel pump, TII fuel rail and four GSL-SE injectors.

So, it's time to upgrade. I have a Walbro 255lph pump, but am looking for your advice on the FPR and injector upgrades. As far as I can tell so far, a 140psi rising rate FPR should be fine (would like verification on that point) but I'm mixed about whether I stick with two GSL-SE injectors for my primaries and go to two 1600cc injectors for secondaries, or even 2000cc's for the secondaries. Or, the other option would be to go with 1000cc primaries, 1600cc secondaries.

For background, when the car was on a Knight Sports hybrid turbo (just a bit bigger than stock) using TII injectors for primaries, and GSL-SE injectors for secondaries, I dyno'd 245 RWHP. Now, I've upgraded the turbo to get into the 325-350 RWHP range, and that's my target.

So, is there enough info here for you to give me some recommendations on FPR and injectors?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I'm not familiar with the Wolf 3D, but sticking with smaller primaries is generally a good idea. Although ID 1000s seem to be getting popular as primary injectors. The computer's ability to adjust idle low-load will be a limitation. Something like 680/1200cc or larger should be more than enough to support 350whp. Can't suggest an FPR; I'm using a stock one.

Thanks, the Wolf 3D is a vintage 2000 ECU. Its reasonably flexible, has all the basics, but newer systems have better idle adjustability plus self-tuning and a computer connection.

i had the wolf v3 in my car at one time, it was cutting edge in its day and still suits most applications more then adequate especially your set up. The handheld controller also makes for a nice set of gauges.

I would say to upgrade to 1600s for the secondaries because you WILL want more power later so you will be set. Adjustable fuel pressure regulator , that pump and you will be good for another power upgrade later on
I now run a wolf v500 only because I got a great deal on a brand new unit but I had no problems with the v3. Also running 2000 primaries but thats another story

Thanks. The more opinions here the better, so if others have more thoughts, please speak up. I wish I could get a deal on the v500 or now the v550. I've literally tuned my Wolf 3D for hours on the road, and know that interactive data logging and tuning would just really do wonders for the car. Sure, it works, but there are hiccups in some of the map points, the cold operation isn't great, and I would like to stop running some horrible old Windows 95 vintage software to see or edit my maps on the computer. Anyhow, it's all just mostly a matter of money (and some time too).
