fuel quesetion

so ive been having running problems with my t2... i have eliminated all my emissions and have no vaccume leaks...also i bought the car with a street port done and have stock injectors...im having a problem with the car loading up with fuel if the idle drops below 1,500 rpms for a given ammount of time...im pretty sure my ignition timing is fairly close to what it should be...i was thinking that the car may need some type of fuel management for the car....i also have an msd box that i coud have hooked up to the car that has a multi spark feature which im thinking could help a bit if anyone could help me out or give me suggestions about what to test or have a look at it would help alot thanks

You need to describe the problem a bit clearer, because that doesn't really make sense. Do you mean it idles rich? Is it smoking or just smelling. Rotaries like to idle rich, so with removed emission controls they often smell that way.

im pretty sure my ignition timing is fairly close to what it should be...
Have you checked it with a timing light?

Depends on what's been done to the car. Without a full description we're just guessing.

Not really. If something needs fixing, mods won't help. Get it running properly first.

well yes id say that it is idling to rich because it starts to build up with fuel when the idle drops below 1500. then you have to rev it up and then it cleans it all out and will idle normal again...also i have a problem with acceleration of the engine when i hit the gas the car seems to bog down then backfire and then either return to idle or stall. i have some experience with rotaries but this seems to be stuming me...if i throw a new set of plugs in the car it will run fine for a while but eventually the fuel problem returns...ive checked my coils and they are good...i need to get the car running again so that i can do the ignition timing with a timing light....i was told maybe something like a engine temp. sensor is bad and it is reading cold all the time so its just dumping fuel...if i do the timing and it still doesnt fix the problem do you have any idea where to go from there

Sensors.

There are a couple sensors I can think of. The one that plugs into the back of the Water Pump untit, green plug looks like that BAC plug. And ther is one that is located on the drivers side on the bottom of the Radiator. One of those two may be what you are thinking about.

if i remember right the water thermo sensor will make you run rich if it is bad because it will let the ecu think that the engine is still cold.

also you should really consider getting some bigger injectors and also some sort of fuel management and an upgraded fuel pump because you have a streetported motor and you don't know the history of the port work.

also have you done a compression test? are your plug wires installed correctly? also what year is your car?

87 tII and im not really going to run anymore than stock boost so do you think that im going to need bigger injectors?...i was thinking going safc neo and leaving it at that for now...where is the water thermo sensor and is it removable and also the temp sensor under the alternator is that removable?
