TN fuel pump wont pump gas. Need Help

so i have a 1991 rx7 gxl n/a, i bought the body with with no engine or tranny, i put everything in, but it wont start. I checked everything and the problem is the fuel pump not pumping the gas. I checked the pump and it works but when i hook it back up it wont pump. What could be the problem? did i miss a negative wire somewhere? please any advice will do.

Have you checked your fuses and relays? Did a previous owner install a 'fuel cut' switch that needs to be turned on?

with engine off and the key in the on position, jumper the yellow two-prong connector on the passenger side shock tower (it is sometimes still covered in some foamy stuff). Does the fuel pump run now?

ok, i got the fuel pump pumping but it wont start. I started with starting fluid and it works with starting fluid but for some reason the gas is not getting into the system. is it a computer problem?

It still could be many things. How old is the fuel filter in that car? Pull the vacuum hose off of the fuel pressure regulator. If liquid gas comes out then it needs to be replaced.
I had an electrical issue once that had me take out the main wiring harness. When I put it back in the car wouldn't start. The problem was that I didn't make one of the ground connections for the fuel injectors tight enough.
You have a lot of "hunting" to do. Just don't freak out; Check the cheap and easy stuff first.
