Fuel pump rewire idea, advice requested

This is just the beginning of my brainstorm for how I'm going to rewire my fuel pump. I know in my drawing below that I have not included all the details but just wanted info on how my basic pushbutton / relay setup is. I'm no electrician so if I'm AFU let me know.

The idea behind this is that I'm a lazy bastard, and a lazy bastard will not hit the 'off' switch every time he gets out of his car for added theft protection. This set up (hopefully) will make me turn on the ignition, push a momentary close pushbutton, then start the car. The relay will deenergize and open(?) when the ignition switch goes to off, therefore lazy bastard continues to be lazy without a stolen car.

I just glanced at it, but it looks fine. Just make sure the momentary switch is rated high enough to handle the current demands of both the relay and the fuel-pump motor before the relay is energized.

intresting. might work. you might have to hold the button down before, while, and just after cranking though. but I'm not sure if you lose ign 12v durring transistion between on and start and back to on.

I'd had to have the relay deenergize while driving though for any reason... if you are hard on the gas when it happens bye bye engine.

Why not just wire a cut-off switch using Kevin Lander's approach at the harness and loom it so it looks stock? If you don't have headlight washers, you can pull the little ring that keeps you from pushing the headlight retract/extend switch in and wire a latching relay to that to control your fuel pump. It would lead to ultra-stealthy-ness, and at the same time, and should be rather reliable.
