Fuel pump replacement
I just need help finding a replacement pump besides the one mazdatrix has. I'm running bone stock, and just need a good high pressure pump. Maybe a sending unit, I'm not sure. Possibly a regulator. Maybe even a new pulsation dampener. Mostly the fuel pump though. Are there any good aftermarket ones?

Non-turbos don't need higher flowing fuel pumps.
In fact, an upgrade fuel pump will cause the car to run badly - i.e. more rich.
Get a good, used one from the For Sale sections in here or from eBay.

I'm kinda iffy on a used fuel pump. I don't really like buying something that doesn't work right from the word go. I just need one that works, is new, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Maybe I could do used, but I don't understand how you could get a good used one. I guess thats why I'm asking for help. Thanks, and sorry.

But if you can't find one from the above scenario, just buy one that you THINK is good, ie. hasn't been sitting for 6 years
Thats your only option if you're too sticky to pay the exrta 50 bucks for the bakbone of the cars entire fuel system.......

I am willing to pay for the extra cost, I just want to make sure that I have a good one. Kinda wanted to know a brand or something for a new pump.

I got mine from Autozone for a very reasonable price. You can even order online. Why in the world would you go to any of the specialized online sites and pay three times the price for a fuel pump to put into a base model.
With that said, if you are planning to start doing some serious mods then I would think ahead and get an upgraded pump. But I didn't get the impression that you were planning that.

The same way you get a good used anything. Test it before you buy it or get an assurance you can return it if it doesn't work. By putting battery power to a pump's terminals you'll quickly see if it's alright. OEM pumps are generally very reliable and last a long time. People use used pumps all the time. My FD pump is fine.
Did you miss the bit above about not upgrading NA pumps?
Good idea if you'd like an electrical fire caused by an overheated pot to burn your car to the ground...

As for the pot idea, what the hell was that "mechanic" thinking? Any standard pot will only be able to handle a few watts. He might have meant a wire would rheostat, but it's still a stupid idea to begin with.

RX-7 Store carries the AEM wideband which is a decent unit in my experience.
