fuel pump question. need answer before I move it

I need to know if I can just remove the 4 screws and unplug it or do I need to do something special to get it out.

specifically the fuel pressure or anything of that nature.

I know how to physically remove it , jsut not the correct way.

I guess your going to remove the fuel lines first so watch out for the pressure that's built . You can get rid of the pressure by disconnecting the pump and then run the engine 'til it stalls, or if it's been sitting a while, remove the hoses very carefully. Probably not much pressure in the lines then.

If I remember correctly, you DON'T remove the (4?) middle screws, just the perimeter philips-heads...you're going to pull the whole unit out as an assembly- you'll have to tilt it a little to get it out-make sure to be careful with the level sensor that's sticking out, I didn't get much fuel at all from the top lines, just rinse the area down with some brake care or contact cleaner after you're done, and while you're at it, take a good look down in the tank for any water or debris (water can be removed with a long hose by siphoning)
