fuel pump probs.

hey guys i tried to put in my walbro, but the little screws on the top of the plate(the plate to the gas tank not the plate under the carpet.) the little screws are so old and rusted when i took a screw driver to them they stripped. what did u all do to get them out?

Damn, i have never had that problem, but, maybe you can grind the heads off of them and then pull the plate up and then put some vise-grips on the studs left and unscrew them. If thats not applicable, maybe you can drill them out, and re tap them, this time useing Stainless Steel screws.

be careful with drilling, heat or spark plus fuel vapors = explosion.
