Fuel pump installed. Now what??
so i just got done installing my Walbro 255. now, am i suppose to see a difference in performance at all when i put this in? or do i just have to get it tuned to provide my car with more fuel.
my setup is 3" exhaust, no cats, 3" downpipe, FCD, and aftermarket Boost gauge reading about 10psi.
now what i thought would happen was my boost gauge says 10psi Yet at the track last week the best i got was a 16.07.( out of ten runs) i know i needed a fuel pump but i would have thought it would make a difference right off the gitgo??
am i wrong??
Any suggestions or advice. thanks

The fuel pump only allows the potential for more fuel.
The actual fuel flow is determined by fuel pressure and the injector pulse width. The fuel pressure is controlled by the FPR (fuel-pressure regulator) and the injector pulsewidth is controlled by the ECU.
The purpose of the fuel pump upgrade is that when asking for a lot of fuel, the stock fuel pump can become overwhelmed and provide less fuel pressure than the FPR is asking for, causing the car to run lean.
To actually adujst the fuel delivered to the engine you need either an adjustable FPR, or a replacement ECU or piggyback.
