I'm picking up a rx7 today, 500 bucks! I was told it might need a new fuel pump. He said the car was sitting for a while with gas in it and the gas crystallized, freezing the pump.

Does this sounds right? Could there be anything else wrong with the car?

How would I take the fuel pump out? could I replace it with the one from my Turbo II?

 

you could buy a walbro 255 fule pump for as low as 85-120 bucks on the internet...get ready to have some fun with that car...I'm trying to get info and parts together for a 1991 vert N/A to TII swap...be prepared to do a lot of searching here....

First you should determine if the fuel pump is actually the problem. If it is, the fuel pump is accessible from the metal hatch under the rear carpet. See the FSM for details, it's an easy job.

I'm guessing it's an NA? Yes you can use a TII pump, but I wouldn't leave it there long-term because it would result in richer mixtures compared to the stock pump. Do not buy a Walbro for it...

 

i look at factory pumps (i have an 86 rx7 with a turbo moter put in it will the na pump) and it was like 800 for the pump where should i look for a cheaper one and what would work other then stock?
