fuel pump

I have an 86 gxl with a brand new weber carb. 48ida and 6 port manifold. I believe the carb only needs 5 psi. Would it work if I bought a first gen. fuel pump, the one for carb. 13b. any advice is appreciated.

First gens and second generation have a totally different fuel pump setup.

Go to: http://www.tweakit.net and buy the Malpassi fuel pressure regulator. I beleive RotaryShack (http://www.rotaryshack.com) might also have something like it.

The Malpassi fuel pressure regulator allows you to use a stock fuel pump but it can knock the fuel pressure to 5 psi. PM or search Preacher about it, he has a thread on it somewhere.

Good luck!
