im not getting any fuel to my 86 GXL fuel injected engine, and was wondering what could be wrong, and also where the fuel pump and fuel filter are.

 

1. Fuel pump only runs if the key is HELD to the START position.

2. Or if a two socket, yellow in color electrical plug near the afm and pressure sensor,. are jumpered AND the key is to the ON position.

3. Or if the engine has actually started and then the key is returned to ON.

4. Or if the key is to ON and the vane in the afm is pushed aft just a bit.

5. The fuel pump does NOT prime when the key is turned to ON.

6. The fuel pump is installed inside the fuel tank. Access is gained by removing the carpet over the fuel tank.

7. The fuel filter is located about a foot below the brake booster. Has a fuel line on each end. Who'd a thought.
