i have an 88 rx7 fc gxl. the sticky says it holds 16.7 gallons, but when i put in 10 gallons of gas the other day it measured only between 1/4 gas and 1/2 gas on the gauge. the gauge doesnt seem wrong though because when i ran down the gas it did go empty. what could be the problem?

 

ive noticed that my gas gauge seems to go faster towards the top of the tank then run out slower for the last half. so just fill it all the way up and check how many miles you've travled to get to half tank then check your miles travled from half tank to empty.

 

open your tank, and check the float, see if its working properly and moves freely
