fuel in oil = not good
hey
i have a 87 t2 and wanted to know how you could posibly get fuel in the oil system and how to fix it. THIS IS NOT A BLOWN OIL CONTROL RING DOSENT BURN OIL. and because of this the seals got washed w/ gas so i have little compretion on both rotors, i would also like ideas on how tho fix this problem.
peace out.

Are you referring to fuel in the engine oil? If so, how much? Just because it smells a bit like gasoline doesn't mean there is a problem with the car. All car engines, apparently especially rotary engines more so, will have a little gas in the engine oil. If you think it is excessive, send a sample to Blackstone Labs and have it checked. Mine smelled like gas and their analysis showed it was within a normal range.
If you are saying that the car was flooded with excessive fuel and that "washed" the oil from the walls of the rotor housings, that's unrelated to having fuel in the oil. In this case, do one or more of the de-flooding procedures and you should get your "compretion" back.

Haven't we ALL heard this
It is blow by... how else is fuel going to get in the oil?
It's a rotary thing...the oil is going to smell like gas. If you don't like it change the oil ... or get a piston engine.
It just happens.

well if it has flooded that would explain how the fuel got into the oil.
basically it sounds like your seals are fuel washed or carbon stuck, add a few ounces of MMO to each leading spark plug hole and crank the engine for 5 seconds and let it sit for about 30 minutes. squirt a little starting fluid into each primary intake runner port(a vacuum port in the UIM/LIM should work fine) and try to start the engine, if it still wont start then do the unflooding procedure over again until you make some headway.
once the engine has started and run for a short while then change the oil to get rid of the dillution.
