fuel lines in new engine

fuel lines in new engine

alright sooo i just got a new engine for my na and im told to replace the fuel lines but i dont no where to get them and do i really need to replace them what are consequences if i dont change them. i am moving on aug 16 and my car needs to be completed sooo any fast solutions would be helpful

take one of your old lines to any parts store and they will have new line for you.

parts stores sell fuel line by the foot, so just go and get a handful of feet (it varies on what your car is like and depending on weather you have a rats nest), it's pretty easy, just undo the old line and put new line on. I would replace the stock clips with nice hose clamps too, the stock hose clamps suck.

if you don't replace them they could crack do to age and heat and fuel will spray onto your engine and catch fire and it'll take a lot longer to get your car running...

Let me just tell you my experience with my '88 n/a fuel lines. I have had about 3-4 different fuel leaks since I've had the car. I always just either retightened or bought bulk hose from the parts store (AutoZone). It wasn't until I just went to mazda and got the OEM hose from them that my leaks stopped.

All that to say....if it were me...I'd get the OEM hose from your Mazda dealer or Mazdatrix... Make sure you get new clamps too.

if you are Buying Rubber line..maek sure it is EFI fuel hose..(made to withstand High pressure..about 50 psi).the Regular **** will blow off the car(carbed, rubber hose,.low presssure around 10 psi)..i'd just get the car going and MOVE,then do it...Oh,If it's just On te engine,then it won't be that Time consumming..But you do have to Take the Upper and middle intake off to get at the Fuel rails,ETC.
