A Fuel Leak

A Fuel Leak

ok i'm back with another problem lol between the throttle body and the engine on my na fc there is a leak from what appears to be some kind of secondary fuel filter or somthing it's clear peace of plastic and i can't get to it to really look cause it's in a bad spot but i had to remove the alternator to find it in the first place it's not bad but it could cause problems i would just like to know what that is and how i am going to have to go about fixing it......*note i can't seem to find it in the online manual so i don't know what to say

Sounds like it's the pulsation dampener. They're widely known to fail (leak) and set your car on fire. Do a search for the PD and see if that's the part you're looking at.

Its metal though, not plastic. Maybe you have an aftermarket fuel filter. If so a clear plastic one is pry made for a carb with low fuel pressure. Thats why its leaking. If this is the case, buy a fuel filter for a fuel injection system and replace it before you get an engine fire.

yes i beleave it is that pulse dampener thx nonpistons now i just have to figure out how to fix it slash get to it I really don't feel like dismantling the manifolds to get to it ACK

Use the search function on this forum. I'm sure you'll find the procedure for replacing the PD in there somewhere. Don't drive your car until you get it fixed, or you may have a real mess on your hands. And carry a small fire extinguisher if you must drive it. No kidding.
