Fuel Injectors Sealed with Gasket Maker? (pic)

As you can see in the picture below, there is some "orange stuff" on my primary injectors. To me, it looks sort of like gasket maker. It is not very hard.

- Is it normal to try and seal fuel injectors "better" by applying other material to the seals?

- Do you recommend I buy some of this stuff and re-apply it? If so, what is it called so I can get some?

Thank you in advance.

Orings and grommets

I would never recommend using any type of seal maker or gasket maker on fuel this is one area where you really can't skimp I would recommend using the proper O-ring and grommet for the injector and rails that you plan to use, to me it does look like a gasket maker but I would avoid that at all cost. You should list the injectors and rails you plan to use and the engine in question, it will be helpful to get you the proper parts for the proper installation

Gas + RTV NEVER hold up. Someone did that to fix a vacuum leak who was to cheap to buy replacement orings and grommets

Most likely done because the grommets get rock hard and they were too cheap to get the new parts.
The new grommets are pliable and will conform to both the injector and the oriface that it needs to go into.
That orange RTV belongs next to the Duct tape..(in Red Green's tool box)
