Arrow fuel injectors help please

Allright, I have a 13b in my 1988 mazda rx-7 and i was told that i have a leaking fuel injector by a mechanic that i paid to have inspect my car. After consulting a friend, he told me that i could just replace the O ring on the fuel injector after taking out the fuel injectors to see which one is leaking. (the mechanic couldnt tell me which one it was without me having to pay more) My friend is far too whipped by his girl to help me work on my car to take the injectors out so i'm on my own. If at all possible, could someone refer me to a step by step guide on how to take out the fuel injectors and putting them back in/replacing them? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

Welcome.

I would assume by "leaking" he meant that they were leaking internally. You can have them serviced for 15 - $25 per. You should use new o-rings each time you pull them.

What's the problem you had him looking at?

You need to be more specific- is it supposed to be leaking internally (into the engine while shut down), or externally (visible leak while running, or the fuel system pressurized)?

You need to know which one, before determining the course of action. Either way, you'll probably have to pull the UIM to access the primaries, but it might just be an o-ring problem, versus sending the injectors out...

With an NA car always being in vacuum, how would they leak externally? With a force fed car I can see how this could happen. Just curious. Of course this shouldn't be happening in either case and you would see it when pressurizing it.

Does it have something to do with all the pressure on the backside of the injector pushing it out when the injector is closed? All those milliseconds add up I guess.

What do you call 30-ish psi of fuel in the rail right on top of the injector? A vacuum? That's what your o-ring is sealing...

I had a fuel injector leaking externally before I put on new rings.

Anways, get a Hayne's manual, that should help.

the leak

ok, the mechanic said that it was leaking, which my guess would be internally since whenever i tried to start it...it would flood, and i'd have to bypass fuel injection by holding down the gas to start it. I have a haynes manual.
