WI fuel injector questions

hey guys I have a few questions if anyone can help me out here, I have a '87turbo II that is haveing issues running, I suspect the injectors are bad or I have a bad resistor pack. The car will start and run but will not idle and while you are trying to set the timing since the motor was just put in if the engine dies then you cannot restart the car and it acts like its flooded. I found out that the injectors are different sizes, 440 and 550 and of course the thing is all put togeather now and I don't know what is installed where or how to tell the difference between the injectors. Any one have an idea here? I suspect that I had the injectors cleaned locally before I installed them but I didn't keep paperwork and this project has been sitting around for years so I don't remember if they were cleaned and if they were who knows if they were done properly. I suspect I should go ahead and buy new 660cc injectors for this car, it has a racing beat down pipe on it and no cats and has the fuel cut defender as well.
Any info would be great, thanks.

Color b/t the 460's and 550's is different.

No need to suspect the solenoid resistor if you have the wrong injectors in the primary spots. Put the 550's in the primary spots then see if there is a real problem. Search for injector colors on this forum.

The injectors have a part number on the plastic top cap. Compare that part number to the numbers in the FAQ. The colour helps as well...S4 TII injectors have tan tops, S4 NA injectors have red tops.

Both primary and secondary injectors should be 550CC.

If the car has been sitting, or this service has never been performed, send the injectors out for a professional cleaning and testing.
