Fuel Injector Cleaning Service Shops

I'm planning on sending my fuel injectors out to an injector service shop to be cleaned, flow tested and balanced. The last time I've had this done was when I installed my Mazda remanufactured engine back in August 2002. Back then, I sent my injectors to Marren Motorsports, but that was over 22 years ago.

I did a web search and came up with a list of possible service shops:

WitchHunter Performance (www.witchhunter.com) - Closed 12/14/23 Gordon
Advanced Injector (www.advancedinjector.com) - Curt
RC Fuel Injection (www.rcfuelinjection.com)
Marren Fuel Injection (https://www.injector.com/cart/pc/home.asp)
Fuel Injector Clinic (fuelinjectorclinic.com/index.php?route=common/home)
Injector RX (www.injectorrx.com)
Injector Rehab (https://injector-rehab.com/)
MotorWest Performance (motorwestperformance.com)
SouthBay Fuel Injectors (www.southbayfuelinjectors.com/home)

A few months ago, somebody on this board recommended WitchHunter, but unfortunately that shop has permanently closed. The owner wrote: "After 20 years...Due to recent medical diagnosis I am closing the business as of 12/14/23. Thank you all that have used my service through the years. Gordon" He also wrote: "I will refer you all to a good friend Curt, in Wichita KS. that I recommend. He will do a good job for you. Advanced Injector 816-721-7788".

Back in August 2002, I sent my injectors to Marren Motorsports to be serviced. I had no complaints back then, but that was over 22 years ago. Their quality of service might have changed since then.

So, I'm looking for fuel injector cleaning service shop recommendations. Right now, I'm leaning towards Advanced Injector. I was wondering if anybody has used any of the above shops recently or has any recommendations on these or other injector service shops?

So out of that list, I've had experience using 3 of them over the years...

Marren Fuel Injection (https://www.injector.com/cart/pc/home.asp) - Like yourself, I've used Marren way back in the early 2000's a few times, with good results, but that was about 20 years ago.

More recently, like within the last 2~5 years, I've used both of these guys a few times, also with good results:

Injector RX (www.injectorrx.com)
Injector Rehab (https://injector-rehab.com/)

Both shops properly cleaned my injectors to my satisfaction and provided similar before & after flow testing documentation, turn-around time as promised and no issues with packing & shipping. IIRC, pricing was very similar for services provided. FWIW, I've sent in stock injectors for my FC, and aftermarket (ID) injectors for my FC & FD as well as some OEM injectors for my/my kid's daily drivers over the years. Of these 2 shops, I prefer Injector Rehab simply because they are located closer to my home (about an hour drive), so round trip turn-around shipping is typically quicker than anyone else I've used.

I'm on the east coast in Virginia. I can only partially access your website since I'm not a member of Instagram. Turnaround isn't an issue for me since I have a set of spare injectors. You are right, though. Shops on the west coast tend to charge more for their services compared to other shops. RC Engineering, which is known to be a very reputable shop, is charging $35 per injector. Must be due to the high rents in CA.

I have used Witchhunter for more than 20 years. I haven't used them in some time and I'm sad to see that a medical diagnosis has forced Gordon to close up. They always did great work! I would reach out to the Advanced Injector company that he recommended and go from there. I've always trusted Witchhunter and I feel as though he wouldn't send anyone somewhere he wouldn't trust.

Thanks for your feedback. After checking out both their websites, they both sound like good shops. I like Injector Rehab's Dynamic Cleaning option and reporting of test results. Alternatively. I like that Injector RX offers untrasonic cleaning of fuel rails and throttle bodies. Wonder if they can untrasonically clean my BAC? Turnaround isn't an issue for me since I'll be sending in a spare set of injectors that I bought off Ebay. Only downside of that is that I won't know the condition of the injectors that are already on the car.

Yeah, I was planning on contacting Curt with some questions. They do appear to have the lowest prices at only $21 per injector.

Just for west coast people searching this in the future, I’ve used rc engineering and it’s a super fast turn around time. But yes, prices have gone up. Always get new orings/seals from them.

They are local to me, so I dropped off and picked up, but they also accept injectors shipped to them:

They also rebuilt my S5 turbo. He even had to call BNR for a part.
