Fuel Filter Mount Bracket Fix? (Searched)
Fuel Filter Mount Bracket Fix? (Searched)
So I just did a complete fuel system maintenance set. As soon as i put the slightest tension on the output fuel hose from the fuel filter, the filter mount bracket separated from the frame. It appears that this bracket was mounted by 2 rubber mounts that were adhered via a glue to the frame.
Leaving this alone would mean that the weight of the filter would be applied to the output fuel hose, which just seems like a really bad idea. Is there a simple fix for this, as in buying new bolt/rubber mounts and re-gluing them?
Thanks in advance
Matt

Space constraints and environmental conditions are slightly driving the question. The proximity of the transmission, master cylinders, motor and a few other things preclude drilling. Double sided tapes and most adhesives are viewed by most as a less then permanent (or reliable) solution for this type of mounting. Especially in an environment so populated by petrol leaks. JBWeld had crossed my mind, but seems like a half hearted attempt.
I was just hoping that there was a more permanent, widely accepted solution.

They are very common parts on lots of cars (so a junkyard would be a rich source) and are available from places like Pep Boys as well.
