Fuel Door Issue

Hey all, I hope there isn't a thread already open on this cuz I know you guys hate that, but I did try to look. Anywho, So I went to fill up the other day and when I pulled the little lever to open the fuel door it went back a little too far. Well after filling up I was unable to get the door to lock again so all you have to do now is just open it. For obvious reasons I would prefer to have that lock working. I wasn't able to find anything in either the Chilton or Hayes manual. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Easy to fix, they just get stuck with crud build up. The latch is held on with a bolt on the outside, just remove the bolt. Then in your hatch move aside (you don't need to take it out) the carpet on the right side and you should see an access hole. Just reach in and pull the gas catch lever out and clean the latch. I'm going by memory here, so I might have missed something things, but overall it's a fairly easy job.
