Fuel cut switch question

I just wired a fuel cut switch because my FC keeps flooding I wired it to the middle wire of the yellow fuel pump relay beside steering column. My question is do I have have to make sure that I turn my switch off before I leave the car? When I turn the key off that cuts the power to the switch anyway right? I just didnt want to mess my fuel pump up or anything.

you do not need to turn the switch off first to turn your car off.
only turn the switch off when your car floods to clear out the gas.
