fuel cut off switch... amperage for the switch??

I'm installing a fuel cut off switch but the first switch i installed did not work. it's a 10 amp toggle switch and no matter what position of the switch i selected, car wont start. i checked the crimp for positive contact to make sure there's a positive flow of current so im sure there is a continuity in the circuit. Is it maybe the amperage of the switch too low?

Any info will be appreciated..

A 10A switch is fine. Where did you wire this switch?

Check your fuse under the dash. You might have popped it during the install.
