fuel cut at 5k? s5 t2

hey guys ill start with the car details :

91 on title, 88 on door jam ( lol ). with a s5 t2 jspec motor. has a 3rotor map and afm i think... ill post up the actual numbers on them, with a n370 ecu and wiring harness, emissions delete with omp, magnecor 10mm wires and NGK plugs, full 3in exhaust no cat, bigger TMIC, motor is stock with a ported wastegate and also the check engine light comes on and off.

car drives and idles great, it has no problem boosting to 4k but it just stops at 5k. im guessing its fuel cut? i thought only s4's had to have a FCD for the fuel cut. i dont have a boost gauge installed yet, will be getting that done by the end of the week, however since i had the wastegate ported i thought it wouldnt spike/creep.

any input is awesome thanks!

1. Those are stock s5 t2 components.
2. With no boost gauge how do you know its creeping?
3. Have you ever changed the fuel filter or fuel pump sock?

Not a boost cut. FUEL cut. Get an FCD anyway, or get an rtek.

Fcd is a recipe for disaster on cars this old. It was an ok workaround when these cars were new-ish, but pushing higher than stock boost on sketchy injectors through crusty lines, pushed by a tired pump housed in an tank thats of unknown condition is not something I would recommend.

Boost controllers can not lower boost pressure. They only increase it. Port your wastegate and skip the FCD unless you want to blow up your engine.

If I were opting for any type of fuel cutting device, I'd go rtek and some slightly bigger injectors and at least an FD pump. A little more money spent, but well worth it on the safety end.

this may or may not help you, but i had a similar situation when i just got my s4 on the road. at 4-5k it felt like your hitting a brick wall no matter what u did. I changed the fuel pump sock, fuel filter and ran some injector cleaner and after a couple of days the problem cleared up and never returned. I thought it was fuel cut too, but it was just the fact that it wasn't getting enough fuel in the first place.
