Is this Fuel Cut?
I have recently installed a new Bonez Intake on my 88 TII.
When I drive 3rd gear up to 80 or so, sometimes it jerks a little bit then keeps going. I really noticed it when I was in 5th gear the other day. When I started gettting above 120, it started doing the same thing every couple of seconds.
I either thought it was the turbo limiter(because we are only supposed to get 6-8lbs from stock turbo on ecu) or fuel cut.
I saw that the turbo was as high as the stock gauge usually reads.
Are these the same thing?
If I get a FCD, will this problem stop?
Thanks

does it do it at any other speeds? or gears? with just an intake i serisouly doubt you're hitting fuel cut. a filter won't make the boost jump that greatly over the stock setting.
do you still have the original cats? that might be the problem. does the car kinda hesitate lightly? like sputtering hesitation. my friend has a modded FD and had the original cats. it would do the same...but at speeds under 120 maybe like around 6K and up. he took the cats out and the problem cleared up. good luck

Yep, sounds like fuel cut. Check that you have a pill installed in the vacuum line that goes to the boost sensor. The pill should be installed at the manifold end of the line and you should be able to feel it by squeezing the line (it will be a hard lump in it). Its used to filter the signal to the boost sensor and without it you can get intermittent fuel cut even if your running less than 'fuel cut' level boost.

I believe that I still have the stock cats and pre cats on the car. I have only noticed it when I was high revving in 3rd and over 100 so far.
I will check out the vacuum line pill, next time I get under the hood.
Thanks

I ended up getting rid of my cats and bought a FuelCut Defenser, and I haven't had any more hesitation throughout any gear. Well, at least not from fuel cut, I still have the 3800 RPM hesitation. : (
I'll fix one thing at a time. : )
Thanks for the help.
