front upper strut bar question

so since i replaced my alt belt with a new one my strut bar doesnt fit (alt now hits it) and was wondering if anyone knew of a bar that will fit for sure.

oh yeah, the one i have is the el-cheap-o ebay one. fit fine before i replaced the belt, but the new one has a tad more slack in it that then old crusty one.

the parts stores tend to give you the "nearest length" equivalent when they don't carry metric lengths. I ran into the same problem on my FD except the belt was actually too short to put on.

take it back and ask for one which is half an inch shorter. IIRC the belt number corresponds to it's length in inches. for instance a model/part number of "365" means it's a 36-1/2 inch belt. you should verify this with a measuring tape. go back to the parts store and find one which is '5' less. they may have to order one.

good luck,
