Fresh air headlight cover ideas

I was looking at my headlight cover the other day when I was thinking about making myself a NACA duct cover to get fresh air to the cold air box (I'm too cheap to buy one commercially). It looked as though I'd only be able to sit a fairly small duct in there without getting serious about cutting the metal away. Also It looked as though the plug at the back of the light would make it nearly impossible to make the duct deep enough to get much air in (it'd interfere when the light's up). I got to thinking; why not build a raised scoop? This would solve any problems with clearance and I could make it as big as I wanted. Has anyone ever done this or seen one done? I've never seen one myself and I was wondering if I'd be the first to have one. I have the materials and I'll go get a spare cover on Tuesday, but I'd like to know beforehand if it'll look totally stupid or not. Another option I thought about was louvering the cover. Please post pics of raised scoop or louvered covers if you have them and/or opinions.

Thanks
