free gift with purchase (big images)

So I bought some random stuff from a guy that lives down the street from me. I got a greddy type s with the flange and everything to mount it, and this stuff:

Along with the gauges I got the defi link controller to make it all work nice. I kinda overpaid, since I gave him $1500 for it all. But he was nice and threw this in to make the deal a little sweeter for me:

It's an '87 TII with hks dp, apex'i n1 catback, act clutch, and fluidyne radiator. The car runs but the starter is fried, and someone stole the front mount and test pipe (you can see the piping for the intercooler in the pics). Anyway I should have it on the road in about a week. What do you guys think? Not bad for $1500 huh?

p.s. I was just kidding about the car being thrown in lol. The other stuff just happened to come with the car.

By the way i forgot to post the question I had about it. some of the electrical stuff works and some of it doesn't. The power windows and sunroof don't work. Neither do the guages. But the dome light and headlights work. When I open the drivers side door with the key in the ignition it doesn't ding but when I do it with the passengers side door the interior lights come on and it dings. So idk what is up with it. Basically half of the electrical **** works. I checked all of the fuses in the interior fuse box and they are all good. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

thats a pretty nice t2 ... i love black. What kinda shape is it in though. Like engine, interior? cause the outside looks good (cept for the missing bumper )

edit - ya some of the stuff you mentioned sounds really fimiliar (cough last car cough) most of the time its a bad wiring or a bad conection. after 20 years rusty wires becomes a problem.

The interior is actually in really good shape. I haven't run the engine yet but from his description it seems pretty good also. Could I swap in the wiring harness from my '88 gxl to get all of the interior stuff and the gauges working. I know obvisouly it wouldn't have a connection for the boost guage, but I have the aftermarket one so that isn't a problem. Is the rest of it the same between the two harnesses though?

I have an efan that I'm going to put on there. I would MUCH rather use the clutch one but the way the radiator is tilted I can't. So does anyone know if the interior harnesses are swappable between the n/a and turbo cars?

Lol no thanks man, I've been wanting another TII since about 10 seconds after I got rid of my first one so I think I'll hang onto it. But again, anyone know about the harnesses? I tried swapping the relays and that didn't do anything. All of the fuses are in good shape. I know the windows could be cause of the switches but with so much stuff not working (basically everything other than the main dome light and the hazards), it makes me think there is something bigger wrong.

wiring harness

I think you can swap in the interior wiring harness from the 88GXL.

But it sounds to me like the electrical problems you're having are being caused by bad fuses, worn-out or fried switches, and a corroded driver's side door switch. Unless the wiring harness is hacked up, I suggest you go through and check what I just mentioned first.

The door switch is easily removed with a philips screw. Clean off any corrosion with sandpaper and use dielectric grease.

The wiring in these cars are actually pretty reliable. Most of the electrical problems have to do with cold solder joints in the CPU and clock. There's plenty of posts on these issues.

Power Windows I can't comment on (I have manual crank windows).

As for the sunroof, it might need to be taken out, dismantled, cleaned and regreased. There are plenty of posts on how to take care of that problem.
