FPR question

I installed a walbro 255. I have the stock FPR, and haven't had any problems.

Everyone says I need to upgrade to a better one. Which is best for the price?

I am going to stay N/A. Probably going to get an aggressive street port and some NOS later on.

I also have an SAFC-II, and don't have it tuned much. -5% to 5% through RPM.

Thanks.

You do not need that pump in an NA, it is massively more capacity than you need. A TII pump would easily cover the planned mdos. But since you have it...

The Walbro will increase fuel pressure across the rev range, resulting in more fuel being delivered than is needed, especially on an NA. If you have a properly tuned fuel controller you can compensate for that. Doesn't sound like yours is though...

Nope. I need something to tell me the A/F, just haven't bought a wide band yet. They are a little pricey .

I had the pump laying around from when I was doing a project to turbo a 626. I wasn't sure if the two would fit each other, but I pulled out the old pump and looked, and it fit in just perfect.

Thanks for the information.

You should have it professionally tuned, or put the stock pump back in until you can afford to. There is no benefit to leaving it in there.

I threw the stock pump away.

So, it would be better to tune it with my SAFC-II rather then buying a FPR?

Looking around it seems like it is going to cost around $120 for an FPR.

Is this as low as it goes?

Thanks again for all the help guys.

just looked on ebay......

would this thing work?

FPR on ebay

Another stock pump would be cheaper and easier. Then get it tuned properly.
