Found my rattle! Well, the worst one anyway...
Hey, I need a little bit of advice here.
People look when I drive by because there is a loud, ringing, rattling noise over every bump. I finally got the car in the air, and both the inboard washers on the rear shocks have enough up and down play in them that they make noise like crazy!
They don't appear to be loose (side to side), but they are definitely the cause of the noise. My mechanic says it may have been put together wrong, and I should just add a washer to each side to quiet them down.
This doesn't sound kosher to me, but will probably work. Or should I buy new Mazda washers and hope they work better? I need to get rid of this noise so I can chase some other ones...
