Lots of guys on the Norotors forum (V-8 swap forum) have done it, there's even a kit (Ronin Speedworks) available.

The advantages are a much stronger diff and a very wide range of gearing options.

Thank you. Maybe I should try google out more often lmao. Don't want no pistons, but a spool would be nice ^_^

I agree, only thing I see is a spool is safer/better than a welded diff. But is the cost worth the swap.

Even better though, the LSD options too, but once again it can't be too hard to find a decent S4 clutch type. Guess it all boils down to what's available to you lol

Then you can get some money back by selling the 7's rear end to a Miata owner putting a V8 in his.

In all actuality, it's a great upgrade and it swaps right in with a bushing change. Only issue is figuring out how to keep the nose steady. A guy I worked with used one in his Lexus V8 swap.

from what i read, if your swap over the nose section from the Miata (94 - 97 ONLY) then you can use the Factory Torque Brace to steady the front.

I was planning to toss my GTUs Viscous Diff in the Miata, swap her gears to the GTUs Diff and put it in, and then Take the GTUs Gears and find my GTUs a Clutch type and get rid of its S4 Welded Diff.
