Fog lights?

Fog lights?

i just bought a pair of aftermarket fog lights. so hears what happend i hoocked up the red cable to the positive end on the battery. then i took the black end and grounded it to the car by attaching it the on of the bolts on the rad. . when i turned it on i blew a main fuse. what did i do wrong.

Not sure what could be wrong. Thats the exact same way I installed mine.

fixed it i needed a new batery termanal.....one more question what would happen if i attaced the black calbe on the harnas to the negative termainal?

well.. the best way would be to use a relay.
Relay gets connected to the lamp circuit (parking lights), switch, fused of course, and ground... then the power side of the relay goes to the battery, fused of course, and fog lights, and ground.

This way, you turn on your fog lights, and they will only turn on with your parking lights. So when u turn your parking lights off, the fogs go off even with the switch on. And by wiring through the relay, the extra drain on the lamp circuit wont be caused by the fog lights. do it any other way and you risk burning your circuit. if u connect the directly to the battery, u can cause a short, or leaving them on accidently would drain your battery. Do it right man dont hack it up. U can splice into the lamp circuit by using the running lights (thats what I did on my gsl-se)

would you guys happen to know
how to hook up the series 5 turbo fog lights
onto a 1990 GTU?
of course, the GTU wouldn't have the wiring for
the fog lights because they don't come with them stock...
