FMIC in place of radiator

ive seen a few pic of people moving there radiators back and placing a FMIC in its place , to lessen piping and hassle i assume,
how does this affect the rad?
also what about heat from the rad effecting the ic??

The stock intercooler on the 3rd gen is behind the rad, and some aftermarkets mount in its location, but I can't see where you would relocate the rad on the FC???

i have a friend who keeps planning to mate an FMIC right up against the radiator, his argument being that there'll be shorter piping for less lag, and the air wont be able to go around the FMIC. I just keep telling him that the FMIC is going to heatsoak and if he were gonna do that much fabrication, he might as well just make some good ducting to get the air through the FMIC.

Talk to Crusader_9X His NPR IC is in place of the rad and the rad is mounted just behind it. Works great!

i think as long as you have proper ducting with no leaks around the radiator it will still function properly

i would think it would be fine because now you have upgraded to a more efeciant fmic it should help with less piping and less lag you may have to relocate the battery but thats simple ,a lot of 3rd gens have a npr isuzu npr fmic in front of there radiator and run fine so go for it good luck
