floods and the white smoke

floods and the white smoke

the other day i went to start my car and i didnt. i figured it flooded and worked to unflood it. after about 45 mins is finally started to crank. when it did start, it farted a huge cloud of white smoke. is this die to a coolant leak? possible water in my engine? a leak somewhere! my car doesnt always start the 1st time and i really want this problem to go away! any help?
its a 90 vert N/A

White smoke is usually excess water or moisture in the exhaust, but if its really dense and thick smoke its probably a coolant leak/rupture in the engine. I'd get the engine and the coolant pressure tested, thats the easiest way to find out. My car has a little leak and there is a little white smoke on startup, but it goes away pretty quick.

If the car starts, check and see how much coolant it uses over say a week, then compare it for a few weeks. Definetely do not overheat it otherwise more damage will be done.

I know my car has a small coolant leak, but it doesnt affect the engine temp, or the pressures, i just have to add some coolant to the tank every week or so. I'm getting new hoses and a new radiator and e-fan when the money comes in

If it doesnt start too easy, maybe get some new battery terminals and check the CAS, a clean connection is sometimes all the car needs.

Check your water pump as well. Mine was on it's way out when it developed a small leak. Luckily, it was caught before the whole thing failed.
