Fix for Code 17 ?

My 91 N/A CE light came on briefly and when I checked it, it showed Code 17 which the FSM identifies as Feedback. In the descriptions there are references to the O2 sensor and vacuum leaks. Can any of you shed some light on what causes this? Is it serious? What should I look to do to fix it.

Your O2 sensor is about worn out, or its connector is bad.

Cruising fuel economy will be a little off, but you you should not be in limp mode.

Replace it when you can.

I got this code about three months ago it sent my car into limp in mode(SUCKS), yes check for vacuum leaks but i was told to check the wire that goes to the ecu from the o2 sensor for opens. But i had continuity the whole way back to the ecu, what fixed mine was new spark plugs and a new 02 sensor. Hope that helps. The code hasn't reset in three months.

I got a code '17' using a Bosch 02 sensor. Replaced it with a NGK/NTK #24036 and it got rid of the code. This was for a 90' vert. You can get the NGK sensor with connector at sparkplugs.com for ~$45.
