Fitting racing seat into an 86?
I was wondering how to fix a pair of racing seats into a 86. I was looking at the Tenzo Evolution Type-R seats. I've overheard that you don't need the hardware package that they offer. All you need is the slider section from the bottom of the original seats and a custom fabricated bracket that is bolted to the floor.
Is this true, and has someone done this before? How much would I be looking at to get the seats installed? I tried searching for this and came up empty handed. Thanks

Most of them you can fabricate brackets for so they can either attach to the stock slider assembly, or you can make stationary brackets so that the seat is more stable and stuck in the one position. Cost is directly proportional to who you know, and how much you can do yourself. If you know someone who's good with cutting and fabricating things, it'd be fairly cheap. If you don't, it could get a little more pricey.

Mine required cutting out the two rear drivers seat mounts, and bolting the seat to the floor pan, as well as to a L bracket we fabricated.
Look for a local race shop, they should be able to handle it for you.

I just inatalled a pair of Tenzo's into my ride
All I did was unbolt the sliders off the stock seats and measured where the mounting holes were in realtion to the new seats drilled new holes and bolted them in
It took me a couple of times but got them drilled right.

corbeau makes nice seats at very fair prices but the brackets they sell that ae made for our cars really need some manipulation to fit...I had to heat mine up and bend a little in the vice to get them snug...yuo can tell it's made for our car but a couple of bolt holes weren't even close.
