Finally passed DEQ!!!!
After about two months of trying to pass, i finally just took it to a shop and told them to do whatever needed to be done. $350 later, i have new cat and new tags for my car. Now if i could only afford to keep it. oh well, im just glad i got it out of the way finally.

Note my DMV discrimination post
I've picked up a few things that you should do BEFORE going into the smog check center. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as my dad used to say. This is my story:
I went overkill!! Tuned my '88 Vert, dumped a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank, changed my oil with synthetic, and made sure I got right onto the dyno before my exhaust cooled down so it would represent real situation. Running stock exhaust. Result:
HC Max/Measured CO Max./Meas. NO Max./Meas.
15mph 121/8 --- .76/.16 --- 1059/90
25 mph 96/12 --- .65/.09 --- 919/183
#^&$*%(&%%*&^%## that, CA DMV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
