I'm not sure if it's factory or not, I doubt it is. It's a cheap crap radar detector as well. Mostly detects automatic doors, banks, etc. Every now and then it'll detect a real cop car, which is always a good thing

It sure does fit well down there, but I sometimes forget it's there and kick it. I've had it to a point where i've knocked it off and made it a bigger hole where the nails were than in the beginning..... oops

That is a very nice car you have there. How long have you had it now...did it come in that condition??? Besides the obvious things you did (momo engineering ), the car in general I'm talking about. And did you put the cat on there or did it come with that one? Once again...nice car!

Thanks...

And yup, gonna get rid of that cat as soon as possible. I need to come up with $500. My straight pipe in Exhaust (single muffler) is waiting for me in Pa.

Thanks, again.

I've had it since March of this year. So, 8 months. Yes, it came in that condition. Bought it in Atlanta, Ga. The PO was extrordinary good with the car. Garage kept most of the time, and driven not so often. I bought her at 151k. You can tell I put alot of miles on her. The only bad thing the PO did was well, two things. Hit a curb - two wheels are bent, not bad... but bent. And.. she also ran into some paint, and the entire passanger side of the car was green. My brother and his friend's help'd get the car ready to bring down to FL for me. Alot of work was done on her.

It did have a stock cat on the car. Last month, the cat clogged all the way, causing VERY bad over heating problems, car unable to go past 40mph, would smell terrible, etc. I took it to the muffler shop, and they put on a new cat -which in their terms is a "high flo cat". Last month, during octoberfast for SCCA - driving there, the main gasket infront of the cat started to fall apart and off. I'm surprised the car did not over heat much, but damn, it was a bad exhaust leak. When I took it back to the shop, and they lifted her up (I got to help out - amazingly...) The bolt that connects the pipe from the exhaust manifold (I think?) to the front of the main cat where the gasket was was missing, actually broke. So ya...

Other wise she's in good shape. Normal problems you'd find in a 15+ year old car though.

adds comfort man. all the momo parts are things that contact the driver and add to the driving experience. my friend has a 5spd jeep, and the car is great, but i dont like the shifter or the steering wheel. those 2 things keep me from wanting to drive his car.

Ya, it's something like that. If I drive someone elses car, and try and fit their steering wheel, it's hard... It's like.. I can't drive it. I mean.. I can, but it feels wierd and all. I guess it really depends on what you like.

Thanks. I can name a few more 80's RX-7's around here that are clean .. I mean VERY nice.

But damn.... I get alot of times while sitting in a parking lot or something and people come up to me "Hey, that's a sweet looking porsche, what year is it?" ... I mumble to myself and shrug.

Yes, it's the Race Air Leather.

Yeah, it's the boot. I did have another shifter in there , but had to change it out. When I had changed it out, something snaped underneathe the cover for the boot to hang on, I believe. I just have been REALLY lazy to fix it, that and, the shifter keeps getting lose, need to tighten the pins. I believe it's because of the boot being like it is.

christi, as gay as you are.
if you took the momo sticker from below the GXL sticker and kept the one above it, it'd make it seem like the car was a special edition
Or maybe just put it below the mazda emblem on the back.

I like it. Better than the Raptor, imo. The raptor is nearly all allumium(sp?) and when the car sat outside too long, heat absorbed around the shifter, which caused major pain in my hand when I shifted. IE: Way too hot. But hey, it wasn't that bad of a shifter.

My old shifter:

With the ball shifter - it sits lower, and allows my hand to rest when shifting, instead of being up high all the time. All and all, it's really good.

I have to say that i really like the E-brake handle the most. Ive never actually seen one on a car until now. So i must ask:

1. Does it fit well?
2. Was it hard to put on?
3. How much $$??

Good combination with that momo stuff inside, looks nice.

I haven't seen this reply - So I guess I'll reply then.. hopefully Fatty_FC3S will see it.

Answers to your questions:

1. Does it fit well? Yup. It sure does. I'm not sure how the stock e-brake feels, as I've never driven an RX-7 with one; but it feels very nice - and fits comfortable in my hands.
2. Was it hard to put on? I will be honest with you - I do not know. The car was all done before I got the car (It was a graduation present for me in may '02, but got her a month early). I'll get back to you on that one as soon as I ask my brother.
3. How much was it? It was approx. $130..

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply to thread, pm me or email me at christi@cryogen.com and i'll be glad to answer your questions as best as possible! (That goes for anyone too.)

Again, sorry for the delay in reply. I didn't know you had replied.

Cristi,
How's that cat holding up? I'm under the impression you went to some "Midas" type place and had them throw one of their "specials" on it. The guy I bought my car did that and the thing was totally clogged up. I looked brand new (no rust here in AZ) but it had to go.
