Finally got my foglights on!

After a year of having them, and not able to install them on the GXL -- they're put to good use on my 'vertible

They're Tenzo's .... Pretty cool. They've got a "blue tint" to them.

anyway, here they are:

^ taken with the flash, it didn't show the entire perspective of the lights, so I took other pictures without the flash. Came out pretty good, without the blurry-ness.

^ You can see the blue tint..woohoo

^ side view.

^ side view without the fog lights being on, and just the blue tint.

^ headlights off, just blue tint.

^ headlights off, with the fog lights on w/blue tint.

I'm happy with them. I think we mounted them a bit too close to the end of the front lip. I dunno if I need to push it back or not.

Hmm...

I'm not sure, that'd you have to ask Racer_13b, as I got them from him almost a year ago?.

I think they cost $50-$80, but I might be mistaken. I've gotta get racer_13b back in the thread to answer your questions , sorry

looks like they are wired wrong though... you should only be able to turn them on when either the parking lights or headlights are on.

Are you sure? My foglights can be turned on with the key on ACC. I turn them on using the stock switch in the center console.

Well I bought them about 2.5 years ago from a local shop in town, but they have closed since then. I remember paying about $100.00 I think. Sorry cant be much help.

Not if they are aimed properly- most people don't bother to do this.

I did. I bothered to aim mine backawrds out my rear hatch. They are most effective in that location.

lights i wired up are more driving lights than fogs, the beam is pretty defined and i have them so they hit the ground a couple hundred feet out. i have them wired as daytime running lights actually, they come on when the car is on. the main focus of the beam is never higher than mid shin.

christi, don't you also have the black rubber replacement antenna (the kind that doesn' retract) on one of your cars? I'm thinking of getting one of those too, do you have a pic handy?

Well for sure if the car was in CA, it would be illegal to have them wired that way... In other states, it would be just wired wrong (as well as could be illegal- check your local regulations). In CA they must only be on when the headlights are on (as your parking lights are also required to be).

But more for battery drain... for example, you are parked, listening to the radio, key in the accessory position and forget the lights are on... well... nothing like leaving a 10-15 amp draw on. With them wired properly to come on with the parking lights (and there is a parking light wire in the center consol switches there) you would see the dash lights on, and know your parking/head/fog/driving/etc lights are on.

No, my car was still on when I took the pictures.

Theres a switch to turn them on or off, but because I've misplaced the wiring dirgram I kinda did it by memory..... There is, however, a yellow wire that I believe will tell me if it's suppose to turn it self off when the car is off or what -- but I think I have to wire that to the igition..

How were you able to wire it to the stock switch on the center console?

Nope, still the stock one. It works pretty well Probably another fella on the forum can help you with a picture though.

No you mis-understood... your parking lights are not on... that means the relay you used for the fog lights is wired incorrectly.

You should not be able to have the fog lights on, unless the parking lights (in a few states) or headlights (in most states) are on.

I mean come on people... there is a (5 amp max) red/black parking light feed wire right in the center consol, just under where the stock fog light switch goes... how much more simple could it be???
