Final word on the N/A boost sensor.

Ok, I just want to clear this up, there are many different perceptions about the N/A pressure/boost sensor, well, I tested it myself, and here's what it does.

It does NOT affect timing.... I checked timing at various RPM's with various amounts of vacuum applied to the sensor. Totally unchanged.

The ecu will increase fuel flow when the pressure sensor tells it there is LOW engine vacuum, which means open throttle!!!
Injector cycle is DECREASED when more vacuum is detected by the sensor.

It's input is measured in conjunction with the TPS, AFM, O2 sensor (when less than 3/4 throttle), and air temp sensor, to calculate proper fuel delivery.

I tested the timing and injector cycle both first hand. Thats it- done.

Ya wanna see? Pop the hose off of your manifold from the sensor, and suck on it!! You can change your idle depending on how much you suck!!!! Ahem.

(It is possible my car is electrically F*cked -actually, I know it is- but nothing related to the boost sensor, so these tests should be totally valid unless someone proves me otherwise... then I need some serious repair...)

Does the boost sensor vacuum hose have a little black round flow inverter inside? Cause I was chopping it up to replace the cracked oil injector vacuum lines. If so, I might have to tear out that whole intake plenum again before my motor runs dry.

SOME cars apparently don't have it, but's that's onely what I've heard, and tend not to believe it entirely.

Ya, it's a black insert with an oriface in the middle, right where the line attaches to the sensor.

It should be fine for now- the oil flows pretty slowly through those hoses- but it could easliy clog with time. Definately fix it when you can.

Wait- the injector vacuum line? So no oil flow then.... Don't worry about it- it doen't restrict overall vacuum, it just smooths out spikes and pulses (dampens)

OK- I would say it's fine, don't worry about it.
