A FEW ?'s ABOUT FINISHING MY t2 SWAP
I have some questions about completing this swap
I have an 86 NA That basically I have stripped out the engine etc
I have a T2 Jspec with T2 Tranny and Shaft -First ? Do I NEED to change the REAR End?
I also have an T2 S5 Amemya ECU - Good Choice?
Wiring Harness is S5 T2 as well....
I also bought myself a New clutch/Pressure plate and throw out bearing,Tubro Throttle Cable, new motor mounts, braided oil lines and a full Fujita Engineering Exhaust (FEED) with a racing beat downpipe from 2.5 to 3"
Now some serious questions....
1. Do I Need the Knock Sensor From an S5 T2?
2. Oil Metering Pumpfrom an S5 T2?
3. Can you please list all the sensors I need?
4. Do I need to swap the dash wiring harness ?
PLEASE HELP ME FINSIH THIS SWAP
I seriously have all the time in the world to get this done right
and I have a good bit of money to put into it as well.....All I need is someone who can tell me the truth about mistakes to avoid so that I dont "waste" time AND money! lol
ANY AND ALL HELP WELCOME EMAIL IS Ralliart403@hotmail.com

Dont use an s5 engine, wiring, computer on s4, unless you want to put alot of time into wiring and what not, theres alot of differences between the two. what i would do is if it is an s5 block, keep the turbo, and the block, etc. change over everything from the intake ports up, along with wiring, sensors, etc, all to s4. also, change over front cover and change to mechanical omp from s4. then run s4 computer and wiring. it will drastically speed up the swap. afaik, s5 wiring and computer into s4 is difficult.
youll need to use the driveshaft from your car, and the output yoke from the turbo driveshaft, get a shop to make you a new driveshaft with those, about 1/2 inch longer than the na driveshaft. when i had it done i didnt add length to the driveshaft and it ended up being about 1/2 inch too short, still worked, but didnt like it.
my friend ran a gxl rear end with his turbo swap for about a year, beating the hell out of it and never had a problem, and he also swapped into an 86 same as you,
i personally run an 88 gxl with a tII swap, including rear end, half shafts, hubs, drive shaft, etc.
hope that helped.

Keep the engine and transmission.
Throw the rest away.
Use your stock 86 EM harness.
Have a drve shaft shop fabricate a drive shaft to mate b/t the turbo trans and n/a rearend or buy one from Mazdatrix.com
Buy a S4 afm, boost sensor and ECU.
Buy a turbo transmission mount if yours turbo trans did not come with one.
Look at the plugs on that S5 ECU and then at your S4 ECU. See the problem??????? Should

LOL If I could figure out what the heck im doing I would love to do a write up and save someone else the hastle!
But there were only 3 replies..... and all 3 were different!
I dont have the S4 NA Engine
I only have the S5 turbo II
Everything I have is S5 Except for the ACTUAL Frame........... of the car thats basically it....
What I need to know is what I need to make sure it runs right.... I appreciate the advice on what I "should" have done, but what I need are answers on what i should "DO" to finish this swap....
If anyone could provide me with substantial answers I would GREATLY appreciate it!
THANK YOU!

well you want my opinion on what you need to finish this swap?
standalone
map sensor
either a TII/NA driveshaft or the rest of a TII drivetrain.
You are definetly going to run into problems trying to plug the S5 ecu into the S4 plug for the body side of the harness. You will need a diagram of each pin so you can switch around what you need to. I have no idea what goes where.
You don't need an S5 knock sensor, you bought a J-spec motor? it should have it on already.
You don't need an S5 MOP fr the same reason as above.
(but obviously check out the engine, if it doesn't have these items you will need them, or at least the knock sensor - you can block off the OMP and run premix)
You don't need the dash wiring harness, just have to re-pin the plug you have...but I have no f&$^ing idea how.
